For a few years now she has been trying to help other moms and families like hers get through those every day moments living with autism .Initially, Angela started out with monthly “Mommy Time-Outs” where she could meet others walking in her shoes and exchange ideas of successful ways she was able to alter her son’s autism behaviors in a positive way . Some Moms were able to attend, but the moms from a far couldn’t because of the distance. This is when Angela decided to go one step further . She  decided to reach out to her  S.M.A.A.R.T.Mom followers from a far by beginning  monthly Mommy Time-Out “Online” Videos!  Although her videos are watched and have had wonderful feed back she still doesn’t feel she has been able to encourage moms and families living with autism to be brave and venture out in to public places with their loved ones who have autism. She knows first hand how autism can make a mom feel so “Isolated”. To feel the unconditional love for an autistic person and want to help them learn to live in our world, to socialize, make friends, etc. is what we would love to be able to do. However, going in to ANY public place takes patience and an extreme courage  for moms of autistics. To have to endure and be subjected to individuals who stare, make heartless comments, or for the ones who  bully the moms or persons with autism themselves.

I know there are  businesses and Individuals that support autism and We All Thank You . However , S.M.A.A.R.T.Mom is asking you to go that one step further and just help that mom or family with autism feel WELCOMED. Just maybe, the feeling of isolation and belonging will be no more. YOU can make a REAL difference in the daily life of someone LIVING with Autism right now.

On that note: S.M.A.A.R.T.Mom  created and designed “Autism Welcomed” inspired by her very own experiences with her son as well as many other moms like her. Please know this decal is not intended to discriminate any other disabilities. It’s only intended purpose is to help autism families to come out of “isolation” and to help lost autistics find their way home. S.M.A.A.R.T. Mom’s  hope is to encourage businesses, theme parks, churches, and even home owners to ask themselves these two questions….” When or How often have you seen a mom or family member with their autistic loved one OUT in a public place of any type ?”

“Do you know what a person with autism looks like and how they might act ?”

Did you say Never or No ? Well than I guess I just confirmed what I’m trying to change.

Please Help S.M.A.A.R.T.Mom by posting your 4″ x 4 1/2″ Vinyl “Autism Welcomed” decal with (UV Ink) inside the entrance door of your place . I can’t express to you enough what a wonderful feeling it is to go into an establishment knowing that my son and I as well as other families living with autism are “Truly Supported” and more so  “Welcomed” by Compassionate people

who want to do more for the Autism Community…..They want to touch our Hearts 🙂
